This policy explains how Resalewy collects, uses, shares, and retains your personal data — in accordance with Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 (PDPL) and its executive regulations, the Telecommunications Regulation Law No. 10 of 2003, the e-Signature Law No. 15 of 2004, and the Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018.

The policy is written in plain language while retaining legal precision. The Arabic and English versions carry equal legal weight; in the event of a conflict in interpretation, the Arabic version prevails.

1. Who we are

We are Resalewy for Real Estate Marketing (hereinafter "Resalewy", "we", "us", or "the Platform"), an Egyptian brand operating in digital real estate marketing through the website resalewy.com.

Resalewy is a marketing intermediary between visitors who are searching for residential or investment properties and Egyptian real estate developers (such as Mountain View, Palm Hills, ORA, Sodic, Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), Emaar Misr, Hyde Park, MNHD, and others). We do not sell properties directly, we do not enter into sale contracts, and we do not receive any payments from buyers.

Resalewy's role is limited to:

  • Displaying information about available real estate projects.
  • Receiving your inquiries and interest in a particular project.
  • Routing your inquiry to the sales team of the relevant developer — either directly or through Resalewy's own sales representatives acting on the developer's behalf.

Our official details:

  • Brand name: Resalewy
  • Legal name: Resalewy for Real Estate Marketing
  • Address: Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt
  • General inquiries: hello@resalewy.com
  • Privacy / data subject requests: privacy@resalewy.com
  • Legal matters: legal@resalewy.com
  • Business WhatsApp: +20 155 557 1114

If you have any question about this policy or about any processing of your data, please contact privacy@resalewy.com and we will respond within 30 days at the latest, in compliance with Article 22 of Law 151/2020.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the personal data necessary to provide our service, in line with the data minimisation principle in Article 3 of Law 151/2020.

a) Data you provide to us

When you submit an interest form or contact us via WhatsApp or email, we may collect:

  • Your full name (first and last).
  • Your mobile number (Egyptian or international).
  • Your email address (optional on most forms).
  • Property preferences: region, approximate budget, unit type (apartment, villa, townhouse, chalet), and your expected purchase timeline.
  • Any free-text content you enter in a notes or message field.

b) Data collected automatically while you browse

Through cookies and similar technologies, we collect:

  • Your IP address (partially truncated for privacy).
  • Browser type and version, operating system, and screen resolution.
  • Pages visited, the order of your visit, and time spent on each page.
  • The referrer URL you came from and any campaign tracking parameters (UTMs).
  • Generic interaction events (button clicks, gallery opens, etc.) — not tied to your identity unless you submit an inquiry.

c) Data we receive from developers (rarely)

If a developer contacts you based on your inquiry, they may send us status updates ("viewing scheduled", "deal closed") for administrative purposes and service-quality tracking.

d) Data from third-party ad networks

If you reach our site via a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) or Google ad, we may receive a marketing identifier (Click ID) used to measure ad effectiveness. It does not contain your name or phone number. This data is subject to those platforms' own privacy policies.

We do not collect payment card or banking data because we do not process payments. We also do not intentionally collect sensitive data (religion, ethnic origin, health, political opinion) unless you voluntarily include it in a notes field, in which case we treat it with heightened confidentiality under Article 12 of Law 151/2020.

3. Why we collect your data (purposes)

In compliance with Article 4 of Law 151/2020, we set out our processing purposes clearly and in advance:

  1. Connecting you with the developer's sales team — the platform's primary purpose. When you inquire about a project, we forward your data to the responsible developer so they can contact you directly.
  2. Customer service — answering your inquiries via WhatsApp, phone, or email and following up on your needs.
  3. Marketing communications — sending notifications about new projects or editorial content, only with your explicit opt-in (see § 8 for how to withdraw).
  4. Platform improvement — analysing aggregated browsing behaviour to refine the user experience and project listings.
  5. Security and fraud prevention — detecting automated abuse (bots), fake submissions, and intrusion attempts.
  6. Legal compliance — keeping records that may be required by the Egyptian Tax Authority, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), or judicial bodies under applicable law.

Your data will not be used for any other purpose without informing you and obtaining a fresh consent.

Our processing of your data is grounded in one or more of the legal bases set out in Article 5 of Law 151/2020:

  • Explicit consent (Art. 5/1): when you submit an interest form or tick the "I consent to WhatsApp contact" checkbox, you give us explicit consent to process your data for the stated purposes. Consent is withdrawable at any time.
  • Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 5/2): responding to your inquiry requires processing your name and phone so the developer can reach you.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 5/4): cybersecurity, fraud monitoring, and aggregated statistical analytics — all legitimate interests that do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 5/3): retaining records for tax purposes or responding to lawful judicial orders.

5. Who we share your data with

We share your data with a very limited set of recipients, only for the disclosed purposes:

a) The relevant developer

When you inquire about a specific project, we forward your data (name, phone, email if provided, preferences, notes) to the developer responsible for that project specifically. We do not forward your data to other developers without your consent. Each developer is governed by their own privacy policy after they receive your data, and we recommend you review it directly with them.

b) Service providers (processors acting on our behalf)

We rely on specialised service providers to operate the platform. They process your data exclusively under our instructions under Data Processing Agreements compliant with Article 16 of Law 151/2020:

HostingerWebsite and database hostingTurkey / EU
ResendTransactional and marketing emailUnited States
Meta (WhatsApp Business)Messaging channelUnited States / Ireland
PostHogPrivacy-friendly product analyticsEuropean Union
Google Analytics / AdsAd measurement and site analyticsUnited States

We do not process payments on resalewy.com, and we have no contractual relationship with any payment gateway, because all contracting and payment happens directly between you and the developer.

c) Government and judicial authorities

We comply with disclosure requests from Egyptian authorities (Public Prosecution, police, Tax Authority, Personal Data Protection Centre) only when supported by a judicial order or a formal written request grounded in a clear legal basis.

What we explicitly do not do

  • We do not sell your data to any third party.
  • We do not rent mailing lists or share them with advertisers.
  • We do not let other developers, beyond the one your inquiry concerns, access your data.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers host their servers outside Egypt (United States, EU, Turkey). In application of Article 14 of Law 151/2020, we ensure that international transfers occur under one of the following safeguards:

  • A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with standard contractual clauses imposing a level of protection equivalent to Egyptian law.
  • The destination country has adopted equivalent protection standards (e.g., countries covered by EU adequacy decisions and aligned with GDPR).
  • Your explicit consent to the transfer in exceptional cases.

We review these agreements annually, and you have the right to request a copy of the contractual clauses by emailing privacy@resalewy.com.

7. Data retention periods

We retain your data only for as long as needed to fulfil the stated purposes, in line with the principle in Article 6/4 of Law 151/2020:

Data typeRetention period
Active inquiry (not yet closed)Throughout follow-up, then 24 months for re-engagement
Inactive inquiry (no follow-up for 24 months)Deleted after 24 months, unless the law requires otherwise

Sign-in and audit logs2 years (for cybersecurity purposes)
Marketing consent recordsThroughout subscription + 3 years after withdrawal (to evidence consent when needed)
CookiesPer category (see Cookie Policy) — from a single session up to 24 months

After the retention period expires, we securely delete the data or anonymise it (anonymisation) such that it can no longer be linked to your identity.

8. Your rights under Law 151/2020

Articles 2 and 21 of the PDPL grant you the following rights, exercisable free of charge:

9. Children's data

The Resalewy site is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover that a child has provided us with their data, we delete it immediately. If you are a parent and have learned that your child provided us with data, please contact privacy@resalewy.com.

10. Data security

We apply appropriate organisational and technical security measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or alteration, in line with Articles 25 and 26 of Law 151/2020:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) for all data exchanged between your browser and our servers.
  • Encryption at rest (AES-256) for databases and backups.
  • Access controls with role-based access and two-factor authentication for staff.
  • Periodic security reviews and annual penetration tests.
  • Incident response policy that mandates notifying the Personal Data Protection Centre within 72 hours of becoming aware of any breach likely to affect your rights, and notifying you directly if the breach has a high impact — in implementation of Article 26 of Law 151/2020.

Despite our best efforts, no digital system carries zero risk. We commit to informing you of any material incident that may affect your data.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and improve your experience. They fall into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary — the site cannot function without them (session, CSRF protection).
  • Functional — to remember your preferences (language, dark mode).
  • Analytics — to measure usage (PostHog, Google Analytics) — consent required.
  • Marketing — to measure ads (Meta Pixel, Google Ads) — consent required.

Full details are in the Cookie Policy. You can change your preferences at any time from the cookie banner at the bottom of the page or in your browser settings.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legislative changes or service updates. Every material change will be published here with the "last updated" date prominent at the top. If the change affects your rights or how we process your data, we will notify you by your registered email or WhatsApp at least 15 days before it takes effect.

Continued use of the platform after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
